Danier Leather Completes Rollout of Fujitsu Technology
97-store Installation Completed in Five Weeks, Accelerated by Fujitsu’s Pervasive Retailing Framework
Frisco, TX, August 23, 2006 — Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc. today announced that it has completed a five-week, 97-store rollout and integration of in-store hardware, software and services to Danier Leather Inc. (TSX: DL.SV) locations across Canada.
"We were impressed with Fujitsu’s rapid, smooth and professional execution of this rollout, especially considering the size of the project and the international scope," said Phil Cutter, chief information officer of Toronto-based Danier Leather. "Fujitsu’s complete retail technology solution should improve our business operations and customer service."
The rapid rollout was made possible by Fujitsu’s Pervasive Retailing™ Framework, a set of software tools and services designed to minimize the time, cost and risk of creating real-time interoperability between disparate applications and devices that support multiple retailing interactions.
"The Danier Leather implementation is a great example of our Pervasive Retailing Framework in action," said Austen Mulinder, president and CEO of Fujitsu Transaction Solutions. "Integrating multiple in-store systems and applications under a single platform should cut costs and bring consistency and efficiency to Danier’s store operations. The Pervasive Retailing Framework also enables a more enhanced, personalized customer experience at every touch point."
The Danier Leather in-store technology rollout included:
- POS Software – GlobalSTORE POS software for in-store transaction processing.
- Customer Relationship Management Software – CustomerCENTER real-time loyalty application, targeted campaign management and analytics for end-to-end customer relationship management.
- Data Reporting Software – StoreCENTER middleware for real-time data aggregation and reporting.
- POS Hardware – TeamPoS 2000 M point-of-sale (POS) terminals.
- Mobile Technology – Retail-hardened iPAD handheld terminals for tracking in-store inventory and queue-busting.
- Comprehensive Solution Integration and Delivery – Lifecycle Services including complete project management, technical integration, project planning, procurement, staging, deployment and ongoing maintenance.
The new store system platform delivers a closed-looped CRM system to Danier Leather. CustomerCENTER provides Danier Leather detailed visibility to customer purchases and responses to promotions, thereby determining the return on investment of marketing campaigns. By mining transaction data from GlobalSTORE POS, CustomerCENTER allows Danier Leather to understand their customers’ purchasing habits and make available the best offers that generate a purchase response. By leveraging Fujitsu’s mobile iPAD device, Danier can efficiently enter inventory counts throughout the store.
In the next phase of the project, Danier will deploy Fujitsu’s ValueCENTER (stored value/gift cards) and ReturnCENTER (centralized returns management) software technology.
