Scott Langdoc Joins Fujitsu as CTO

Former AMR Research Leader for Retail Industry will Help Drive Company’s Pervasive Retailing Vision and Strategy

Frisco, TX, March 27, 2006 — Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc. has appointed Scott Langdoc, one of the leading retail industry research analysts, as its new chief technology officer (CTO). Langdoc will join the company effective April 10 and will serve on the company’s Operating Board, reporting to president and CEO Austen Mulinder.

Prior to joining Fujitsu, Langdoc was vice president and general manager of AMR Research’s retail industry practice, directing technology and process research efforts toward the critical components of the merchant enterprise – supply chain, enterprise planning systems, store operations and technology infrastructure. Boston-based AMR Research is the leading advisory firm focused on supply chain, enterprise applications and infrastructure.

“Scott’s deep knowledge of the retail technology space and profound set of relationships with retailers and best-of breed technology vendors will be a tremendous asset to our growing business,” said Mulinder. “Scott will make compelling contributions to the continued refinement and rollout of our software-centric Pervasive Retailing™ vision and strategy.”

"In his new position, Langdoc also will serve as the technical visionary for the Fujitsu Transaction Solutions value proposition and will serve as one of Fujitsu’s primary market evangelists, engaging in key customer and partner relationships.

“The opportunity to win or lose as an impact player in retail is now, and I am proud to join Fujitsu and its leadership and product teams to help change the game in store-centric retail technology and support the exciting changes that this industry and its customers are seeing,” said Langdoc. “At AMR, I had the unique opportunity to watch this industry’s vendor landscape carefully and I believe Fujitsu’s vision, products and customer base all reflect a culture and strategy that I want to help move forward.”

Langdoc brings more than 19 years of information technology experience, including chief information officer (CIO) and strategic consulting positions, to his new role at Fujitsu. He was formerly CIO of Raley’s, a $3 billion west coast regional grocery and drug store chain, where he successfully led major point-of-sale (POS) and data warehousing deployments; and PDQuick, a multi-channel convenience store retailer. He was also a general partner at InfoMatrix, LLC, where he provided broad business guidance to the retail and telecommunications industries, as well as the public sector.

Fujitsu’s Pervasive Retailing strategy capitalizes on an emerging industry trend in which consumers are demanding multiple real-time avenues through which to shop. This is driving an explosion of consumer-facing devices that need to be seamlessly integrated in and out of the store. The company has developed solutions that help retailers solve this challenge.
