Fujitsu to Preview Stored-value Card Application at NRF 2005
ValueCENTER Will Integrate with Popular POS Applications To Manage Gift Card Transactions Through Any Retail Channel
Frisco, TX, January 12, 2005 — Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc. will introduce its ValueCENTER stored-value card application at the NRF 94th Annual Conference and Expo, Jan. 16-19, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, New York.
Built on the same architectural platform as the Fujitsu Corema loyalty application, ValueCENTER is a payment card management application for retailers that will integrate with Fujitsu GlobalSTORE and all other leading POS software applications. It will enable retailers to manage their own stored-value card transactions through any retail channel - saving costly processing fees and giving retailers greater control over their card programs.
"Gift and return merchandise cards are quickly gaining share as the preferred method of payment among consumers, driving transaction fee expenses up for retailers," said Keith McNamara, senior vice president of general merchandise and software operations for Fujitsu. "By managing their payment cards in-house, retailers can eliminate many recurring fees while applying greater control to store policies for returns, refunds and non-use charges."
Unlike transaction-fee based programs, ValueCENTER will provide in-house flexibility and control so retailers can quickly adapt stored-value card rules to their customer service policies, marketing plans and security requirements to meet changing needs. Gift cards, return cards, corporate rewards and any other type of stored-value card payment program can all now be handled flexibly in-house. The ValueCENTER solution includes client front-end interfaces for in-store retail and online; an administration and management control center with comprehensive reporting and analysis tools; and the underlying Corema data server.
