Fujitsu to Showcase New Retail Technology at NRF 2005

Demos and Previews to Give Retailers a Glimpse of Retail Technology Future


Frisco, TX, January 11, 2005 — Fujitsu will have multiple retail technology demonstrations and previews at its booth during the NRF show, giving retailers a glimpse into the future of retail technology. Here's a taste of what's in store:

WHAT/WHY:

  • GlobalSTORE -- Fujitsu is introducing a new version of its rapid-deployment POS application platform based on Microsoft's .NET framework and Visual Studio
  • StoreCENTER -- A preview of Fujitsu's new software platform that resides at a retailer's corporate headquarters and provides centralized point-of-sale support for all stores, including real-time data and reports.
  • ValueCENTER -- A preview of Fujitsu's stored-value card application that will provide multi-channel management of gift card systems and reduce a retailer's transaction fees.
  • U-Scan Self-checkout -- The compact U-Scan 1 features an integrated attendant station for smaller specialty store formats; Fujitsu's wireless iPAD can be used by remote attendants.
  • U-Scan Shopper -- Fujitsu will preview its new automated shopping cart concept that features a mounted, wireless tablet computer that empowers consumers with product and sales information as they shop.
  • SmartPoS Manager -- A demo of Fujitsu's new point-of-sale client and administrative console that monitors Fujitsu TeamPoS 2000 terminals and SmartPoS Peripherals, providing retailers with centralized asset management and diagnostics.
  • MasterCard SDP -- Fujitsu will demonstrate how retailers can comply with credit card data security requirements for MasterCard, Visa and American Express by performing security scans to spot potential security problems.
  • TeamPoS 2000 S -- Fujitsu will introduce its new entry-level POS terminal that will be available through the company's indirect channel.
