CRS Retail Joins Fujitsu in Reseller Partnership
Frisco, TX and Newburg, NY , January 10, 2005 — Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc. and CRS Retail Systems, Inc. have entered into a partnership agreement under which CRS will become a value-added reseller of Fujitsu TeamPoS 2000 point-of-sale (POS) systems and related services, bundled with its own CRS RetailStore software and other elements of the CRS RetailSuite.
"CRS is one of the top retail software providers and resellers in the industry, and this partnership will provide retailers with access to the necessary technology to improve store operations and reduce costs through best-of-breed hardware and software," said Austen Mulinder, president and chief executive officer at Fujitsu Transaction Solutions. "Our agreement also reflects Fujitsu's increasing momentum in the retail industry as a provider of lifecycle solutions and a positive contributor to a retailer's bottom line."
"Our clients have been looking for greater choice when it comes to store hardware options. The combination of Fujitsu TeamPoS systems and field service with our software and store support will provide a formidable, flexible and cost-effective solution for retailers," said Ed Soladay, president of CRS. "We refined a short list of quality manufacturers and, through a review of products, price points and general ease of doing business, Fujitsu emerged as one of the best in the industry."
Fujitsu TeamPoS 2000 is a point-of-sale system that adapts easily for POS, customer kiosks, multimedia displays or management terminals. Its modular design enables the system to grow and change with the retailing environment, resulting in the elimination of costly system replacements, maintenance and upgrades. TeamPoS 2000 supports a wide range of configuration options to suit individual store needs.
CRS markets a fully integrated suite of operational software to specialty retailers worldwide. The CRS RetailSuite encompasses POS and back-office modules, merchandising, allocation, sales audit, CRM, cross-channel stock locate/order management, labor management, loss prevention, e-Commerce and other high value functionality.
Another dimension to the Fujitsu-CRS partnership is both companies' strong commitment to Microsoft's "Smarter Retailing" vision and platform technologies. Microsoft's Windows Embedded for Point of Service is a retail industry-specific operating system that facilitates integration and management of retail device peripherals and furthers Fujitsu and CRS' common goal of delivering POS systems with lower lifecycle costs and greater flexibility.
