Fujitsu Powers the Connected Experience at NXTcomm08 Conference and Exhibition

Las Vegas, NV, June 09, 2008 — Fujitsu Network Communications, a leading supplier of innovative optical and wireless networking solutions, announced today that they will be demonstrating and discussing how they are “Powering the Connected Experience” at the upcoming NXTcomm08 conference and exhibition in Las Vegas in booth #SU3104. In addition, Fujitsu executives will be speaking at NXTcomm and NXTcomm partner conferences on topics ranging from global ‘green’ efforts, packet optical networking and how carriers can obtain full-scale convergence.

Fujitsu will be demonstrating a full range of telecommunications and IT solutions including:

  • Packet Optical Networking: Fujitsu Packet Optical Networking Platforms (Packet ONPs) define a new class of optical networking that provides modular, chassis-level integration of connection-oriented Ethernet, ROADM and SONET transport technologies built on a single addressable optical networking class element.
  • Converged Packet/TDM Multiservice Provisioning: Fujitsu Multiservice Provisioning Platforms (MSPPs) combine flexible, field-proven optical access and transport with a powerful mix of Ethernet and SONET provisioning technologies. A full range of optical networking solutions will be at the show, including Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) -certified Ethernet service delivery, efficient wireless backhaul, and DS1 to OC-192 scalable infrastructure.
  • Metro and Regional WDM Transport: Fujitsu offers flexible configurations that range from wavelength service delivery platforms to powerful Reconfigurable Optical Add/Drop Multiplexers (ROADM) that enable scalable metro, regional and long-haul services.
  • WiMAX Wireless Broadband Access: Fujitsu WiMAX base stations and turnkey system integration solutions offer reliable multiservice support for multi-spectrum public and private applications. Included in these solutions is the BroadOne WX300 macrocell base station, which is a finalist for a NXTcomm08 Eos award for Wireless/Mobile Technologies and Applications.
  • Remote Cabinets: Fujitsu provides turnkey outside plant (OSP) solutions that allow carriers to quickly and cost-effectively deploy and maintain Fujitsu equipment for revenue-generating networks.
  • Professional Services: Fujitsu has extensive experience in providing leading-edge solutions within multi-vendor and multi-technology networks. A full range of service solutions support every phase of a carrier’s network: plan, deploy, maintain and enhance. Fujitsu also helps companies align their business and IT value with business intelligence services, enterprise risk management, compliance and content management, legacy modernization services and more.
  • Low Latency 10 Gbps Ethernet Switching: The Fujitsu XG switch series significantly lowers the power and space requirements for high-port density 10 Gbps Ethernet switching and delivers 400 Gbps non-blocking throughput. Its ultra low latency allows IT professionals to build powerful and efficient systems with a compact form factor and a flexible network interface for enterprise server and storage, high performance computing, and video storage servers.
  • Real-time HDTV Video Encoding: The Fujitsu IP-9500 HD/SD video encoder/decoder supports broadcast-quality high-definition video transmission over Internet Protocol (IP) and Digital Video Broadcast (DVB) networks.
  • Pioneering the Connected Experience: Global Research & Development (R&D) activities integrate Fujitsu Laboratories’ cutting-edge research with applied technology and product development across the Fujitsu Group. Close collaboration between Fujitsu Laboratories and worldwide business units enables Fujitsu to quickly bring to market innovative and highly reliable products and services that incorporate the most advanced technologies. Many of these cutting-edge technologies will be on display at NXTcomm08.

Fujitsu executives will also participate in several panel sessions at NXTcomm. During an ATIS TechThink panel, Jim Orr, principal network architect, will share his view on what the future holds for services delivered any time, anywhere, via any access technology. Sam Lisle, market development director, will moderate a panel that will discuss enabling technologies, operational and deployment considerations, and market dynamics of packet optical networking. In addition, at the Communications Goes Green conference, Richard McCormack, senior vice president of marketing, will provide insights and counsel based on concrete experience to help other companies reduce the environmental burden of IT and IT data centers.
