Fujitsu Network Communications Inc.
Fujitsu to Discuss Carrier WiMAX Migration and Optical Solutions at WCA International Symposium & Business Expo
Richardson, TX, January 16, 2006 — Fujitsu is a leading supplier of IT and wireline/wireless networking solutions, and offers flexible WiMAX System on Chip (SoC) and reference designs for WiMAX-certifiable systems. As a gold sponsor of the 12th annual Wireless Communications Association (WCA) International Symposium and Business Expo being held January 17-20, 2006 in San Jose, Fujitsu will present the benefits of migrating to WiMAX, as well as showcase optical solutions and comprehensive network services in booth #114. For more information about the WCA or their International Symposium and Business Expo, please visit http://www.wcai.com.
Companies in several market segments are closely monitoring the status of the emerging WiMAX standard because they stand to realize a number of valuable benefits. Jim Orr, principal network architect in the wireless market development group at Fujitsu Network Communications, will be discussing these benefits and their advantages to current and new broadband wireless providers during his presentation of “Why Major Carriers are Migrating to WiMAX.” Allan Klein, vice president of technology for SR Telecom, will also be participating in this informative session.
During the exhibition, Fujitsu Network Communications will showcase solutions powered by its market-leading FLASHWAVE® 4500 platform. When used in its Multiservice Provisioning Platform (MSPP) configuration, this flexible platform creates a multiservice, high-capacity optical network for wireless carriers, thus eliminating the recurring charges some carriers pay to rent space on other carriers’ networks. Advanced traffic grooming capabilities allow the platform to optimize the usage and extend the life of existing Digital Cross-connect Systems (DCS), or grow in-service to a Multiservice Switching Platform (MSSP) configuration that eliminates the need for a DCS entirely. Each solution is backed by Fujitsu Network Life Cycle Services, a service and support portfolio that allows service providers to plan, deploy, maintain and enhance their network and its operation.
