Fujitsu to Discuss Multiservice Packet Transport Solutions at Next Generation Networks (NGN) 2005

Richardson, TX, September 22, 2005 — Fujitsu Network Communications Inc., a leading supplier of IT and wireline/wireless networking solutions, is a platinum sponsor of the Next Generation Networks (NGN) 2005 conference, which is being held next week in Washington, D.C. Backed by a comprehensive portfolio of multiservice packet transport solutions and its Network Life Cycle Services, Fujitsu will discuss how they can help carriers manage the transition to a seamless, converged network, while diminishing risk and leveraging their multi-billion dollar network infrastructure investments. Fujitsu will also participate in the “Mobile Device Evolution” panel discussion and present their vision for the future. Industry-leading FLASHWAVE® optical networking solutions from Fujitsu comprise all facets of multiservice packet networking, including Ethernet over SONET (EoS), Ethernet over Wavelength Division Multiplexing (EoWDM), Carrier Ethernet, and Layer 2.5 aggregation. Ethernet service interworking and pseudowire capabilities, which are based on direct customer feedback, provide the means to migrate services and the revenues associated with them to a converged network based on MPLS.

The “Mobile Device Evolution” panel session will discuss the evolution of the handheld device and how manufacturers are balancing a long list of conflicting requirements, including size, weight, user interface, screen size, cost, power consumption, and ruggedness. Jim Orr and other industry professionals will discuss current choices and future trends, features and functionality, operating system software options, and mobile connectivity requirements of today’s handheld devices.

During the Fujitsu corporate overview segment, Rod Naphan will discuss the company’s enviable reputation for innovation, leading-edge technology, market leadership, and technical excellence. Rod will also discuss how Fujitsu consistently produces an award-winning portfolio of secure and dependable optical networking platforms.
