Fujitsu Secures Prominent Position in Global User Group to Develop Network-Based Telecommunication Solutions
Fujitsu Director Joins Advisory Committee for International Telecommunication Professionals Exchange, formerly National Centrex Users Group
Richardson, TX, June 3, 2005 — Fujitsu Network Communications Inc., a leading supplier of IT and wireline/wireless networking solutions, today announced that Mark Ragusa, their director of end user products, has been named to the inaugural Advisory Committee for the newly formed International Telecommunication Professionals Exchange (ITPX) Users Group. This committee will guide the expanding role of the former National Centrex Users Group (NCUG) as it transitions to become the ITPX and adopts a broader focus on all network-based telecommunication solutions.
Many of these solutions will be made possible due to several product enhancements and strategic Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) relationships that will be announced at the conference.
Adjunct Industry Forum Exhibit Details (MEF Booth No. 48085; OIF Booth No. 50094)
Fujitsu will be participating in two significant industry forum events that demonstrate innovations in service provisioning and advanced technology. Fujitsu and Atrica will participate in a multi-vendor demonstration of converged and interworked voice, data and video services over a variety of access networks at the MEF SUPERDemo booth (No. 48085). In addition, Fujitsu will participate in an international, joint-carrier, multi-vendor optical networking interoperability demonstration of Ethernet services deployed over multi-domain SONET/SDH transport networks in the OIF Worldwide Interoperability Demo booth (No. 50094).
The ITPX is an international forum for end users, manufacturers and service providers, working in or serving the telecommunications industry, with the primary goal of stimulating the exchange of ideas between the various groups with a focus on providing network-based solutions that can be implemented and provided to the marketplace. While Centrex will be the primary focus of the ITPX, it is now just one part of a more diverse portfolio of network-based telecommunication solutions. This new user group will offer enhanced learning opportunities to its members and foster an environment where the world’s leading telecommunication professionals can discuss and create next-generation hosted services.
“We are extremely excited about our change in direction; however, we realize that we cannot facilitate the change alone,” said John Heiden, president of the ITPX. “In order to accomplish our goals, our first step is to form an advisory committee that will become an integral part of the ITPX Board of Directors. We feel that the advisory committee needs to consist of the absolute best representatives of the telecommunications market.”
Mark Ragusa is the director of end user products at Fujitsu Network Communications in Raleigh, N.C., where he is responsible for the development of all Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) products. Mark has over 20 years of CPE, application and networking experience and has held a wide range of senior level positions in product development, systems engineering, product management, sales and marketing. He participates in many industry forums and standards bodies, and frequently speaks at industry conferences. In 1999, he was awarded the ATM Forum “Spotlight” award for contributions to the Forum and development of their Global Marketing Awareness Committee. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
