Fujitsu Microelectronics to Highlight 10-Gigabit Ethernet Technology at OFC 2004 February 24-26

Sunnyvale, CA, February 18, 2004 — Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA), a leader in advanced network application-specific semiconductor products for 10Gbps systems, will present the industry's first single-chip 10Gbps Ethernet switch IC at booth 4113 during the annual Optical Fiber Communications Conference (OFC), February 24-26 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The new 10Gbps switch chip includes 12 ports and features a wire-speed capacity of 240Gbps, which enables system designers to develop compact and cost-effective switches that deliver maximum performance. The switch chip uses high-performance, integrated XAUI SERDES, 10G MAC, shared memory, and proprietary scheduling algorithms to deliver data at 10Gbps Ethernet rates.

Asif Hazarika, senior systems architect at FMA, will discuss the new IC in a presentation entitled "10Gbps Ethernet Applications" on Tuesday, February 24, at 2 p.m., and on Thursday, February 26, at 10 a.m. in the Gigabit Ethernet Pavilion, located at the back of convention center's west hall.

FMA's 12-port 10 Gbps single-chip IC is a finalist for an EDN Innovation Award for the year 2003.
