Fujitsu Components America, Inc.

Sunnyvale, CA, December 2, 2002 — Fujitsu Components America, Inc. today released a new low profile, high-power relay that is 39 percent smaller and consumes 42 – 52 percent less power than the company’s previous VSB relay.
Targeted for home appliances, audio-visual equipment, office automation and industrial HVAC applications, the new relay measures 29mm (L) x 12.7mm (W) x 15.7mm (H). It is available with 250mW (250VAC, 10A) and 400mW power coils (250VAC/24VDC 16A).
The new FTR-K1 relay is rated for high ambient temperatures from –40 degrees Celsius to up to 105 degrees Celsius (high sensitive type). A minimum of 10mm creepage and clearance distance from coil to contact provides high-insulation properties for compliance with UL508, 873 and TV-5, as well as CSA, VDE , SEMKO, safety standards.
The relay has a long mechanical life of more than 20million operations. Other specifications include a 10kV surge withstand, a dielectric strength of 5,000VAC between coil to contacts and 1,000VAC between contacts.
Available immediately from stock, the FTR-K1 is priced at $1.50 each in ten thousand-piece quantities.
