Fujitsu adds Real-Time Strategic Dashboard to Enable Organizations to Monitor Progress against Business Scorecard
Fujitsu Consulting extends Macroscope® Benefits Realization framework adding dashboard technology and real-time monitoring to illuminate links between strategic business initiatives and outcomes
Edison, N.J., June 7, 2007 — Fujitsu Consulting has announced the most recent enhancement of Macroscope for Microsoft products. The new Benefits Realization dashboard is an extension of Macroscope specifically designed for Microsoft’s Business Intelligence products. Benefits Realization is a set of tools and techniques designed to guide the planning, execution and monitoring of business strategies. Based on Fujitsu’s industry leading Macroscope® methodology and powered by Microsoft technology, Benefits Realization aims to close the crucial gap between strategic intentions and successful execution.
Within businesses, senior management is always under pressure to be more competitive within today’s dynamic global economy. These decision-makers must institute the operational discipline needed to ensure new strategies are not only innovative and executable, but deliver the intended business results. Benefits Realization as an approach was first described in The Information Paradox to assist organizations in selecting and planning the most beneficial initiatives. The new tool extensions can now monitor the real-time performance of these strategic programs, while identifying in real-time problem areas that need to be addressed in order to ensure optimal performance.
This enhancement has been developed to harness the power of Microsoft productivity, management and monitoring technologies including: PerformancePoint Server 2007, Project Server, SQL Server 2005, and Microsoft Office. These products are a complete and fully integrated set of BI technologies that can help reduce the complexity of organizing and distributing information and lead to competitive advantages, overall better decisions, and an improved bottom line.
“Organizations and their management are measured by results, not good intentions,” says Alec Blair, Fujitsu Consulting (Canada) Microsoft Practice Director. “By guiding the selection of business strategies through to their successful implementation, Benefits Realization will ultimately improve an organization's market agility, its ’time to execution’ and overall strategic and operational management capabilities. This new capability provides organizations a true competitive edge in their market."
The dashboard is created using Macroscope techniques employed in the Results Chain™ a graphical method of mapping initiatives, risks, and intermediate stages directly to a company’s desired business outcomes. Benefits Realization evaluates initiatives on two criteria: benefit to meeting selected Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and risk of failure. Initiatives are then further filtered to reveal those with the greatest potential benefit and lowest risk. The selected initiatives are then put forward for planning and execution. Fresh data related to the defined KPI is then collected and delivered directly to executives in real-time, so that they can constantly monitor true progress and make prompt corrections.
“We’re excited to see Fujitsu Consulting’s support for Microsoft’s BI products with their Macroscope offerings. Fujitsu Consulting’s tools and consulting methodologies provide significant value-add for our mutual customers by enabling organizations to align tactics to strategy and drive business performance,” says Bill Baker, Distinguished Engineer, Microsoft Office BI Applications.
“Companies need to develop and execute visionary agendas to not only maintain the status quo, but achieve market leadership,” adds Blair. “Fujitsu Consulting’s Benefits Realization will help our clients meet business demands with the breadth and depth of knowledge, skills and technology needed to achieve their strategic intent.”
