Fujitsu Completes Acquisition of Rapidigm
Adds Key Consulting Skill Areas and On-shore, Near-shore and Off-shore Delivery capabilities
Edison, NJ, April 6, 2006 — Fujitsu Consulting Inc. today announced that it has completed its acquisition of Rapidigm, Inc. a Pittsburgh, PA-based information technology consulting and integration firm focused on application development, deployment and management. With Rapidigm offices in 22 major metropolitan markets in the United States and offshore development centers in India, Fujitsu Consulting now adds approximately 1,200 U.S.-based consultants in major markets throughout the country and another 900 India-based consultants in three developments centers.
“Rapidigm brings a new level of experience and expertise to our enterprise resource planning, business intelligence and application services capabilities,” said John Rose, CEO of Fujitsu Consulting. “This also significantly augments our coverage in major U.S. markets, enabling us to offer more customers a broader range of services.”
Rapidigm’s senior leadership team will remain with Fujitsu Consulting in executive-level positions and will continue to provide day-to-day operational leadership. Rapidigm consultants will remain within their current assignments, ensuring continuity on existing projects.
“This acquisition provides current Rapidigm customers with a greater breadth and depth of capabilities and expanded delivery options,” said Lew Wheeler, CEO and Chairman of Rapidigm. “They will now have access to the technology and consulting expertise they need to effectively compete in an increasingly competitive, global market.”
Reaction to the initial acquisition announcement in February has been extremely positive from customers of both Fujitsu Consulting and Rapidigm. Discussions are ongoing with customers regarding how they can benefit from the broader set of integrated service offerings now available.
The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Fujitsu Consulting’s growth strategy is focused on enhancing its presence and capabilities in key North American markets and segments, in part, through strategic acquisitions. Fujitsu Consulting has now announced five acquisitions over a 15-month period, including Greenbrier & Russel of Chicago, IL, GIM Risk Management of Montreal, QC, BORN Information Services of Minneapolis, MN and Cendera Technologies of Dallas, TX.
