Fujitsu Consulting Invests in MOXXI Medical to Accelerate Deployment of Next-Generation Prescription Management System

MOXXI Medical set to commercialize drug management delivery system, aiding healthcare workers in prescribing effective drug therapies while increasing drug safety

Montreal, Que., March 23, 2005 — Fujitsu Consulting today announced a strategic investment and alliance agreement with Montreal-based MOXXI Medical Inc., a leader in next-generation prescription drug management delivery systems. The investment is aligned to a global strategy by Fujitsu to focus on the health services market.

The Fujitsu Consulting investment will enable MOXXI Medical to enhance its development efforts, while the alliance agreement relates to the joint development and implementation of an integrated delivery system for prescription drug management in Canada.

MOXXI Medical is focused on commercializing its integrated delivery system for prescription drug management that connects physicians, pharmacists, public and private health plans, and their respective patients. The system tracks prescriptions as they are written and fulfilled in order to deliver the best and most cost-effective care possible. These unique features are becoming increasingly important in dealing with the widely publicized escalation in pharmaceutical costs, the increased use of drugs by an aging population and the potential harm resulting from prescription errors.
