Fujitsu Adds New Manufacturing and R&D Jobs to North Texas Campus

Richardson, TX, December 20, 2005 – Fujitsu Network Communications Inc., a leading supplier of IT and wireline/wireless networking solutions, announced today that they have transferred production of a key element of their market-leading FLASHWAVE® 4500 Multiservice Provisioning Platform (MSPP) from their factory in Oyama, Japan to their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Richardson, Texas. Fujitsu is the only major optical networking vendor that manufactures their own equipment, and by moving their supply chain closer to their large customer base in North America, Fujitsu will be able to respond faster to rapidly changing customer requirements.

Dell’Oro Group Names Fujitsu Top Vendor in North American Optical Market with 22.8 Percent Share

Fujitsu was also named the top vendor in the North American SONET/SDH market with a 37.0 percent share of the $382.7M 2Q05 market, a gain of nearly five percent since the $319.5M 1Q05 market. New SFP-based OC-3 and OC-12 base unit shelves are now available, and each can be equipped with matching-rate SFP modules to support Long Reach (LR), Intermediate Reach (IR) and Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) requirements for converged access networks.
