Sunnyvale, CA, September 12, 2005 – In a case study recently published by Microsoft, Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) is publicizing the results of a mainframe-to-Microsoft’s .NET Framework migration using Fujitsu Software’s NetCOBOL for .NET and Microsoft’s SQL Server and Visual Studio. The migration involved taking a 1.9 TB database and associated COBOL applications from DB2 to SQL Server, and resulted in an application that delivered world-ranking performance in both transactions per second and the number of rows in a SQL Server database.

Dell’Oro Group Names Fujitsu Top Vendor in North American Optical Market with 22.8 Percent Share

Richardson, TX, September 6, 2005 – Fujitsu Network Communications Inc., a leading supplier of IT and wireline/wireless networking solutions, announced today that Dell’Oro Group has named Fujitsu the top vendor in the North American optical equipment market for the third quarter in a row with a 22.8 percent share of the $638.5M 2Q05 market. Fujitsu was also named the top vendor in the North American SONET/SDH market with a 37.0 percent share of the $382.7M 2Q05 market, a gain of nearly five percent since the $319.5M 1Q05 market.
