Fujitsu’s GlobalSTORE POS Software Now Available to North American Grocers

Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc. today announced that its GlobalSTORE® point-of-sale (POS) software is now available to North American grocers, and has been modified to include advanced features that were previously unavailable in the marketplace.

“Over the past year, we’ve worked with leading North American grocers to tailor our GlobalSTORE software to meet evolving industry requirements. We’re now ready and excited to bring this solution to the marketplace,” said Keith McNamara, senior vice president, software operations at Fujitsu. “This new version offers the fastest and most interactive application in the grocery industry. GlobalSTORE’s service-oriented architecture, modular design and enhanced user interface will bring added speed and efficiency to store operations, thus decreasing costs and increasing customer service.”

Fujitsu’s GlobalSTORE application is a full-featured, customizable POS and cash management solution. The software platform has been successful for grocers in Europe and Japan for many years; however, this new version offers capabilities that target the specific needs of North American grocers. Key features include:

  • Advanced User Interfaces – Fully touch-enabled interactive screens for cashiers, and innovative customer information displays that increase checkout speed and up-sell opportunities.
  • Transparent Integration – Simplified integration to store systems like customer relationship management (CRM)/loyalty programs and U-Scan self-checkout systems, thus enhancing deployment capabilities and speeding implementation time.
  • Microsoft-centric Technology – Built on the latest Microsoft .NET technologies.

The new point-of-sale (POS) software version also leverages the proven benefits of GlobalSTORE:

  • Simplified Interoperability – Leveraging the Pervasive Retailing Framework (PRF) as its base platform, GlobalSTORE integrates with virtually any in-store or back-office technology – whether its hardware or software. Fujitsu’s Pervasive Retailing Framework is a set of software tools and services designed to minimize the time, cost and risk of creating real-time interoperability between disparate applications and devices.
  • Integrated to Fujitsu CustomerCENTER™ – GlobalSTORE’s seamless integration with Fujitsu’s CustomerCENTER loyalty software speeds the deployment of CRM capabilities and helps retailers better manage customer profiles, loyalty program details, promotional campaigns and analysis in real-time to cultivate customer loyalty.
  • Easy to Customize and Maintain – Built on a service-oriented architecture (SOA) within the application, GlobalSTORE is easy to customize, maintain and integrate, which lowers a retailer’s total cost of ownership.
  • Global Capabilities – Based on the Microsoft Windows® platform, the flexibility of Fujitsu’s retail-specific, modular architecture has enabled GlobalSTORE to be deployed at leading retailers in more than 30 countries around the world.
  • Enhanced Data Security – GlobalSTORE has been validated by a security assessor (PSC) to meet the Visa U.S.A. Payment Application Best Practices (PABP), which means that GlobalSTORE conforms to best practices designed to protect sensitive payment card information from being compromised.
  • Extensive Promotion Capabilities – With more than 350 built-in promotion formats, GlobalSTORE makes it easy to support and execute sophisticated promotions.
