Fujitsu opens Platform Solution Center in Brazil
Brazil is home to the first Fujitsu proof-of-concept Platform Solution Center outside Asia. One of the most complete customer solution laboratories in the world. PSC Brasil underscores Fujitsu’s commitment to cost effective system delivery.

São Paulo,May 30, 2007 — Fujitsu do Brasil Ltda., a subsidiary of Fujitsu Limited and a leader in IT and Telecommunication solutions, hard disks, computers and peripherals, today announced the launch of its Platform Solution Center (PSC) in São Paulo. The center provides the latest technologies for homologation, performance benchmarking and customized IT solutions. Fujitsu customers and partners can now evaluate and test solutions, execute Proof of Concept, and best tailor solutions to their needs, prior to implemention. They can also take advantage of the high availability and performance of the latest Fujitsu equipment.
“This announcement is part of Fujitsu’s strategy to intensify the company’s business in Mission Critical Systems worldwide. By providing tailored environments and diverse solutions, customers and partners can be sure of a project’s efficiency at a much earlier stage,” pointed out Edson Siqueira, Commercial Director of Fujitsu do Brasil Ltda. “As a result they can significantly reduce their implementation costs and gain benefits from their new systems much faster.”
One of Fujitsu’s priorities is to expand its global service consulting through testing and evaluation of its products close to customers, before their effective sale. PSC Brazil, with coordination from Japan, is the first PSC in Latin America and the 7th in the world. Started in Japan in 2004, the idea is to support customer projects in progress. This has led to the opening of PSCs in Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Osaka. The new PSC in Brazil is one of the most complete centers for pre-sales business development. It allows Fujitsu to offer a wide-range of support to quickly and safely verify different software applications and build a close relationship with partners.
The new center covers an area of 487 square meters and is equipped with a range mission critical equipment including; open server PRIMEQUEST, technology leading UNIX server and the world’s most scalable storage solution, ETERNUS. The center also connects to the entire Fujitsu PSC network and other global facilities, via VPN. This enables Fujitsu do Brasil Ltda to meet customer demands for the best in availability, reliability and scalability with operation of key applications, wherever they are sourced.
Access to the center is controlled via PalmSecureTM, a compact high-performance device that captures a person's vein pattern image. This is verified against pre-registered patterns to authenticate access.
