Increased Growth and Accolades for Fujitsu’s Oracle Practice
London, 21st October 2009 — Fujitsu’s Oracle Practice has continued to go from strength to strength in 2009 growing its Oracle capability and expanding its team by 20% to over 400 Oracle professionals in UK and 2,300 globally. Earlier in the year Fujitsu also became the first service provider to be accredited in the UK for Local Government Oracle Business Accelerators. Continued investment in Fujitsu’s Oracle Practice and a lean approach to applications management has been the cornerstone of this success.
Fujitsu has now received further acclaim for its Oracle Practice winning five awards at the recent UK Oracle User Group Awards:
- Cost-efficient Partner of the Year
- Public Sector Partner of the Year
- E-Business Suite Partner of the Year
- Shared Services Partner of the Year
- Database Partner of the Year
The Oracle User Group recognised and commended Fujitsu’s work with a number of UK organisations including, Department of Work and Pensions, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire Council, Reading Borough Council, The Civil, Family and Criminal Court Jurisdictions in Northern Ireland, Bolton Council and Lancashire County Council.
Fujitsu provides a range of Oracle solutions including managed services, database tuning and custom development. One area in which Fujitsu continues to excel is its Oracle provision for shared services in the public sector.
Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire Councils expect to save a total of over £3 million in the next two years by moving to an ERP shared service infrastructure. Stephen Moir, corporate director People, Policy and Law, Cambridgeshire County Council explains, “Despite the scale, complexity and issues involved in this project every milestone has been successfully achieved. In terms of where we wanted to be, it is one of the fastest implementations of such a large project that I’ve ever known in local government, and Fujitsu worked very hard to ensure that it delivered an effective shared services capability.”
Paul Blantern, corporate director Customer and Community Services, Northamptonshire County Council, continues, “With Fujitsu’s help we have proved that a shared services approach is not a myth. It can exist and does enable business change… it’s a win, win, win.”
Fujitsu received the Silver Award for Cost-efficient Partner of the Year and Bronze in the Database Partner of the Year, Shared Services Partner of the Year, E-Business Suite Partner of the Year and Public Sector Partner of the Year categories.
Andy Seferta, head of European Oracle Practice Fujitsu UK and Ireland concludes, “The awards show that Fujitsu’s long, global partnership with Oracle is continuing to deliver benefits for our customers across private and public sectors. It also gives clear reassurance from the market that the company’s ongoing strategy is hitting the mark with customers.”
