Fujitsu Introduces World’s Smallest* Mac® Compatible Colour ADF Scanner for EMEA
Portable ScanSnap S300M Offers Mac Users, Professional Mobile Scanning - Anytime, Anywhere
London, 23 April 2008 — Fujitsu Europe Limited today announced the launch of its new ScanSnap S300M, the world’s smallest* colour, duplex ADF (automatic document feeder) scanner for the Mac® environment. Bundled with unique imaging functions and powerful scanning software, the S300M is an ideal productivity tool for mobile use on the road and desktop operations in small and home offices. The ScanSnap S300M captures documents from business card size to A4 formats and offers the fastest “one-touch” conversion of paper documents into PDF (portable document format) files in its mobile performance class. The ScanSnap S300M´s innovative features help users go paperless, store valuable paper documents, or simply get rid of clutter.
Light and Easy
The footprint of Fujitsu´s newest 1.4kg-light scanning solution for Mac® users measures only 284mm x 95mm x 77mm (WxDxH)
which is smaller than an A4 notebook computer. Operating the ScanSnap S300M is easy, to begin digitising paper assets, the
user simply loads a stack of up to 10 documents into the ADF and presses the “SCAN” button. PDF files are produced at speeds
of up to 8 pages (A4) per minute in simplex- or 16 pages per minute in duplex mode in both black/white and colour. Scanning
in duplex mode, both sides of a document are captured simultaneously in one single pass. The scanning resolutions of the S300M
range from 150 dpi to 1,200 dpi.
Power Software
The ScanSnap S300M comes bundled with powerful scanning software including:
Cardiris™ 3.6 – the highly regarded Mac environment supporting business card OCR software to easily digitise and edit
Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish business card information. ScanSnap Manager -
for fast scanner setting adjustments.
ScanSnap QuickMenu - for enhanced control over the scanned document´s destination, utilising the scanner’s new office linkage
functions, for example, to scan images directly to email or into a Mac folder.
Automatic Conversion
The scanner’s automatic blank-page detection and deletion functions are capable of detecting blanks and eliminates them from
the scan if the user so desires. A special paper-size detection feature identifies the document’s page size and crops the
edges accordingly and through its automatic page orientation the user can set the scanner for proper directional page viewing.
An automatic de-skewing process corrects skewed images when pages are misaligned.
Multiple Power Connections
The ScanSnap S300M can be operated over A/C power supply and if A/C sources are not available then the scanner can also run
on USB bus power by simply hooking it up to a personal computer. When using the USB bus power cable, the personal computer
must have two USB ports: one for power feeding, the other for USB cable connection. This ability of mobility allows for true
mobile scanning of paper documents, receipts, bills, invoices and business cards - anytime, anywhere.

The Fujitsu ScanSnap S300M document scanner will be available in EMEA (Europe/MiddleEast/Africa) from April 2008 for a recommended
net retail sales price of € 299 (without VAT or copyright fees).
