How can organisations deliver operational excellence in stormy times? Today, efficiency and productivity are more necessary than ever. We are facing challenges not seen before that are forcing
companies and governments to transform themselves in order to reduce their operating costs and, at the same time, respond
to new demands of clients and citizens.
To manage these changes, innovation is a key factor, as new problems require new solutions. A global approach is necessary,
from how to apply innovation in internal processes in order to increase efficiency, to how to detect and handle external opportunities
in their early stage.
During this Fujitsu Executive Discussion Evening, we considered the role of innovation in helping organisations to achieve
not only operational efficiency, but also operational excellence in these hard economic times.
PDF 12th May 2009 event invitation Roger Camrass was replaced by Terence Blow, Group Technology Director and Deputy CTO at Fujitsu Services Innovation in context Innovation is often seen as the medicine to all business challenges without really understanding the effort that goes into
being innovative. Innovation doesn’t fit the normal mould of business organisations and to get the most companies really
have to think and act differently. By applying some context to the process of innovation we will explore the possible
challenges and potential opportunities that can be encountered and what can be done to ease the experience.
