Delivering real business results

With a Web platform that facilitates communication and collaboration with suppliers - enabled by Fujitsu
SupplyOn AG, headquartered near Munich, is the largest provider of Web-based supply chain management services for the automotive industry, handling transactions worth more than €50 billion per year. Several thousand customers – including major manufacturers and their suppliers – use this platform to manage their supply chain, purchase more efficiently and support product development. These clients rely on SupplyOn’s Web services being accessible around the clock, so high availability is essential.
Due to changing business requirements, SupplyOn’s customers often require new Web services within a short period of time. That’s why SupplyOn wanted a reliable and flexible infrastructure that would allow it to quickly adapt services and fulfil the needs of manufacturers and suppliers in the automotive sector.
TDS, a German subsidiary of Fujitsu Services, has designed and manages SupplyOn’s virtualised server and storage infrastructure. Hardware resources can be dedicated on-demand to the applications that provide the basis for SupplyOn’s services, so new services can be implemented in just one day instead of an entire week. This has allowed SupplyOn’s customers to take advantage of new services, such as the Automotive Agent, which uses a Web crawler to search for important information about tenders and open orders on the websites of manufacturers, and automatically delivers it to suppliers.
