"Better performance and reliability, combined with ease of use and simplicity, deliver a human-centric approach to innovation that is ideal for the school environment."

Keith Marshall IT Technician Kirkby College

Kirkby College deployed the PRIMEFLEX® Cluster-in-a-box for an all-in-one server and storage solution with maximum uptime and increased performance.

Customer

Kirkby College is a secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in Kirkby-in-Ashfield in Nottinghamshire, UK. Central to the success of the College is the three-way partnership between students, the school and parents/carers. The aim is for each of its 500 students to leave Kirkby College as well rounded learners, able to deal confidently with the challenges of the world around them. The College endeavours to ensure that every student has access to the very best teaching and learning.

Challenge

Kirkby College’s legacy IT infrastructure was in urgent need of refreshing. It needed to find a new cost-effective server and storage solution that could be easily deployed and managed while also introducing highly available, hyper-converged and virtualised capability.

Solution

The College consulted with local IT partner Atom IT Solutions, which recommended PRIMEFLEX Cluster-in-a-box, a balanced combination of server, storage, and networking components in one compact enclosure that can be operational within minutes of installation.

  • PRIMEFLEX Cluster-in-a-box can easily and cost-effectively scale to meet future needs - even beyond the expected five-year lifecycle
