Singapore, 19 January 2005 — Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific today launched the LifeBook E8020. This high performance corporate notebook incorporates a range of new and updated technologies, including the latest generation of Intel® Centrino™ Mobile Technology, giving users longer battery life and greater processing power in a sleek, slimline mobile package.

The LifeBook E8020 uses the Intel® Pentium® M Processor 770 – the fastest and latest mobile processor available. It provides fast access to all applications, and works in conjunction with Intel’s new 915PM chipset for superior mobile performance, while the Serial ATA hard disk improves speed of data retrieval and storage performance.

These are not the only enhancements to Fujitsu’s top-of-the-line LifeBook E series. A hot-swappable DVD Super Multi Drive allows users to read or write all common DVD formats on-the-go, while the inclusion of the latest DDR2 533MHz memory enables faster application access and efficient power management.

The increasing use of high resolution graphics in the daily business environment prompted Fujitsu to include ATI’s latest graphics solution for notebook computers – the ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X600, delivering high performance 3D graphics thanks to its dedicated 64MB of memory, advanced 3D accelerator and PCI Express connectivity.

The LifeBook E8020 has a 15-inch Super XGA+ or SuperFine XGA screen that provides superior clarity for rich multimedia playback and movie viewing – perfect for demanding business presentations, or enjoying the latest DVD movies after business hours. Weighing approximately three kilograms, the E8020 weighs lighter than its predecessor. With up to 80GB of hard disk space, the E8020 handles hefty data requirements with ease.

With so many useful peripherals available today, professionals using notebooks in the corporate environment need their computers to be truly flexible. The LifeBook E8020 features a host of connectivity options including four conveniently placed USB ports, an IEEE 1394 port, modem access and network connections, as well as a combination Secure Digital (SD) and MultiMediaCard (MMC) slot that allows data to easily be transferred to and from other devices such as PDAs and digital cameras. A Type II PCMCIA slot is included, along with an ExpressCard™ slot and an optional Smart Card¹ interface.

Mobile professionals can also connect to wireless networks with Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200BG network connection for total corporate wireless connectivity. An optional port replicator also allows users to easily dock or undock from a workstation without the need to unplug peripherals.
