Rod Vawdrey. CEO Fujitsu Australia & New Zealand
At Fujitsu we take a long-term view of our customer relationships. One example of a long-term partnership is our relationship with Transpower, New Zealand’s national grid owner and systems operator, who this month announced that it has awarded Fujitsu a multi-million dollar contract to provide IT infrastructure services for the next three years, with the potential to extend by up to a further five years.
Transpower has been a customer of Fujitsu’s since 1997. The nature of outsourcing relationships today is very different from ten years ago and this new agreement marks a significant change in the delivery of Transpower’s IT infrastructure support services. Despite this change, Transpower has entrusted Fujitsu to continue with it on its journey because they believe we can grow with them and adapt to their changing needs.
This month also marks the beginning of a new partnership for Fujitsu with Yarra Valley Water in Victoria, Australia. As a mature outsourcer of IT services, Yarra Valley Water was looking for a long-term partner who can deliver outstanding service today, whilst positioning them for future operational and organisational change.
Also in this month’s issue of interaction, we have an article from Scott Langdoc, the Chief Technology Officer of our sister company, Fujitsu Trasaction Solutions Incorporated in the US. Scott will be speaking at the Retail Business Technology show in Melbourne next month on the topic of pervasive retailing. We have also included an article from Fujitsu Services in the UK on second-generation outsourcing agreements as well as a heads-up on some executive breakfast briefings we’ll be holding in October in Sydney and Melbourne on the topic of innovation.
We hope you enjoy this month’s interaction
