Fujitsu Appointed Principal ICT Support Partner to TAFE Queensland with $60M Contract

Sydney, October 31, 2016 – TAFE Queensland and Fujitsu have announced that following an extensive tender process, Fujitsu has been appointed principal ICT support partner to TAFE Queensland. Under the $60M contract, Fujitsu will provide large-scale, critical services including Service Desk, End User Computing, Infrastructure Management, Network - LAN Support and Cross Functional Services. The support partnership will be key in supporting TAFE Queensland’s continued quality delivery to its 120,000 students annually.

Jodi Schmidt, CEO of TAFE Queensland said: “As the largest and most experienced provider of further education and training in Queensland, it is essential we have access to the most innovative, efficient and effective ICT services. We’re excited to begin this new relationship with Fujitsu and to have their support as we continue to provide the market’s best training experience.”

The new contract provides significant cost savings through the use of innovative technology and includes additional services to staff and students that were not available under the previous arrangement. As part of the contract Fujitsu will apply the metrics of its ICT Sustainability Benchmark to provide a rapid assessment of TAFE Queensland opportunities to improve the cost effectiveness of delivering ICT services.

The contract includes 38 locally based support staff across Australia, with Fujitsu to invest in a further 50 back office administrative roles in the Queensland team to deliver the support services. The transition to Fujitsu as the new TAFE Queensland ICT service provider is well underway and is due to be completed early in 2017.
