Fujitsu Drives Toyota’s IT Technology Direction

Fujitsu Australia Limited

Sydney, September 20, 2010

Fujitsu, a leading provider of ICT business solutions, announced today that it has signed a four-year IT services contract with Toyota Motor Corporation Australia Limited, one of Australia's leading automotive companies. The new contract will see Fujitsu consolidate existing IT agreements and provide Managed Desktop and Service Desk support.

Working as part of Toyota Australia’s IT department, Fujitsu will manage the consolidation and standardisation of existing midrange and mainframe agreements and the provision of end to end Managed Desktop and Service Desk into a single joint agreement. From this contract, Toyota Australia will implement industry best practice at the user level.

“Toyota Australia selected Fujitsu as a trusted IT service partner to drive efficiencies and to implement innovative and sustainable IT solutions throughout our current IT environment,” said James Scott, Divisional Manager Information Systems Division, Toyota Australia. “The scope of the contract will enable us to lower operational costs, implement greater flexibility and reduce management time with our IT responsibilities.”

“In winning the contract, Fujitsu was competitive and provided innovative options to consolidate the new business into a single agreement, using existing toolsets and management systems to drive greater efficiencies and cost savings across all of Toyota Australia’s IT infrastructure,” said James Scott.

The desktop solution being implemented and managed by Fujitsu is a transformed user environment delivered through a new Windows 7 Desktop build that complements Toyota Australia’s IT Technology Direction for a transformed Directory Services environment.

“The contract win with Toyota Australia is a result of the successful relationship we have developed during the past 32 years,” said Mike Inge, Executive General Manager of Victoria, Fujitsu Australia. “Our close engagement with Toyota Australia has given us a clear understanding of their business needs and future IT requirements. Fujitsu is honoured to continue our relationship as a trusted service provider for one of the leading automotive companies in the nation.”
