Fujitsu launches Pervasive Retailing

Fujitsu Australia Limited

Melbourne, September 19, 2006

Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand today launched Pervasive Retailing, its unified framework of software, hardware, tools and services to enable anywhere, any time, every time retailing.

Pervasive Retailing is Fujitsu’s retail industry service portfolio, which combines Fujitsu’s consulting and services capability with world-class software, hardware and tools. Pervasive Retailing will help retailers overcome the challenges which are preventing them from creating a compelling shopping experience for their customers.

Conway Kosi, Retail Industry Director, Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand said, “Retailers are faced with a number of key challenges which are directly affecting their ability to create a compelling shopping experience for their customers. These include the burden of legacy retail systems that are approaching end-of-life; information silos which prevent retailers from having a holistic view of their operations and customers; and insufficient customer information, and the tools to exploit it, which inhibits retailers ability to exceed customer expectations.

“With the inherent flexibility of the Pervasive Retailing framework, Fujitsu can help retailers overcome these challenges while ensuring business continuity,” said Mr Kosi.

As part of its Pervasive Retailing portfolio, Fujitsu has signed strategic partnerships with Reflexis, the leader in retail task management software, and SAP, the world’s leading provider of business software. Fujitsu will be providing the following services as part of its Pervasive Retailing portfolio:

  • Retail focused solutions including merchandising, supply chain management and ERP; customer loyalty; workforce management; digital media; electronic signage; point-of-sale software and hardware; Voice over IP; network/security management
  • Service delivery including project management; systems integration and develop/test/roll-out capability
  • Support services including hardware/software support; network management; and helpdesk support
  • Strategic consulting including strategy development; enterprise architecture; change and business transformation expertise; and enterprise value management
  • Packaged services including outsourcing; hosting services; financing and purchasing models.

Fujitsu will be targeting both large and medium sized retailers with its extended suite of retail specific products and services.

“With our strong track record in retail and our understanding of the issues facing retailers today, we believe Pervasive Retailing can help provide the answer to the question on every retailers mind: how can we ensure our customers want to continue shopping with us?,” said Mr Kosi.

Fujitsu is the platinum sponsor of the 2006 Retail Technology Expo which is taking place at the Melbourne Exhibition & Convention Centre from 19-21 September 2006.
