Fujitsu Australia showcases award-winner m-cast at WCIT

Fujitsu Australia Limited

Sydney , February 25, 2002

Fujitsu Australia Software Technology (FAST) is showcasing its digital distribution system, m-cast, at the IT Business Forum and World Congress on Information Technology in Adelaide this week.

m-cast was one of 35 award winners in Discover the Secrets of Australian IT Innovation, a national competition to find Australia's hottest technology innovators. The competition was supported by all State and Territory governments, the Federal Government and relevant industry associations.

100 per cent Australian designed and developed, m-cast is the most advanced digital advertising system in the world. It is an end-to-end distributed multimedia broadcasting system designed to cater for network-wide booking, scheduling, distribution, display and auditing of multimedia content and advertisements.

Organisations can deliver their message to customers via plasma screens, computer monitors, TVs or virtually any other video display device. In addition, organisations can broadcast their message through their own or any other Web site.

The sophisticated rules engine allows messages to be broadcast on specific screens at specific times, ensuring it is viewed by the right people at the time of purchase, a concept FAST calls "precision marketing".

m-cast is aimed at retail outlets, sporting and transport venues, or any other public arenas that wish to increase advertising revenue, as well as interactive TV broadcasters wanting to target specific subscribers, and Internet advertisers.

m-cast has already been successfully trialled at the Pan-Pacific Marketing & New Media Exhibition & Conference in Sydney last July where it broadcast personalised 60-second advertisements for 110 exhibitors throughout the exhibition hall for three days.
