Rod Vawdrey

Rod Vawdrey serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand. Since 2003, he has spearheaded the company through an extremely competitive landscape by leveraging Fujitsu’s business offerings, capabilities and services to better meet the needs of our clients. As CEO of Fujitsu, Mr. Vawdrey has overseen the merger of DMR Consulting, acquisition of Atos Origin's Australian operations, Infinity Solutions in New Zealand and recently KAZ Group and Supply Chain Consulting. Fujitsu is now the 3rd largest ICT Company in the Australia/New Zealand market. Today Fujitsu offers end-to-end ICT services combined with best of breed technologies and platforms under the market positioning of 'Fujitsu Services Plus'.

With more than 25 years in the ICT industry, Mr. Vawdrey’s experience and leadership has seen Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand and South East Asia grow to a company of almost 5000 people working in areas such as Government, Health, Education, Retail, Financial Services, Telecommunications, Utilities and Manufacturing.

Mr. Vawdrey began his career in IT services as a graduate trainee in 1978 gaining a variety of experiences and quickly moving through sales to general management and ultimately business leadership. His background has allowed him to gain knowledge and expertise in every aspect of business from R&D to mergers and acquisitions. His global and domestic expertise in understanding and managing the business services that technology delivers is a key reason for Fujitsu's success.

With a focus on business sustainability and development as well as leading and coaching his team Mr. Vawdrey is a strong believer that one must "lead people and manage things" and therefore looks to have a talented team and coach through example. It is this management style, combined with a strong vision and passion for excellence and integrity that is at the heart of his success.

Mr. Vawdrey also believes organisations should give back to the community. At Fujitsu this is demonstrated through 'Fujitsu Community Reach' program that supports employees to help people in their community and sponsorship of a variety of programs.

Through his association with industry bodies, including as a Director of the Australian Information Industry Association, Mr. Vawdrey passionately believes that by supporting programs that focus on developing ICT skills Australia and New Zealand it will lead to an improved competitive positioning in the global ICT world stage.

Prior to Fujitsu, Mr. Vawdrey held the position of Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Marketing – Retail Division NCR managing several thousand staff across the Americas, EMEA, Japan and Asia Pacific..

Mr. Vawdrey is married with 6 children and his interests include, golf, tennis, water sports and spending time with his family.
